Future Outlook
Planning, construction, operations and research at LOGG have all progressed; the real challenge lies ahead. Operated by a team led by ITRI and NCTU under MOI commission, the station continues to pursue value innovation, integrity and result sharing. The team is also engaged in satellite, airborne, marine and terrestrial gravimetry, taking part in the Global Geodynamics Project (GGP) and the International Absolute Gravity Base Station Network (IAGBN) to advance global gravity-field research and Earth-science interpretation, while continually exploring added value in national surface-deformation monitoring and broader applications for society.
Looking forward, the existing equipment will be used to build a second superconducting gravity observation station to complement absolute gravimeter records, securing the Taiwan gravity reference and explaining global environmental changes—a task of significant value.
